Introduce

PVC butterfly valves have a closing mechanism that is shaped like a disc. When the actuator, or handle, is turned, the disk turns at a 90-degree angle to the flow, allowing fluid to pass through the opening this creates. Because the valve's disc is in the path of the flow, there will be a slight drop in pressure with this type of valve. When the actuator is turned to the "off" position, the valve's disc turns to a parallel position, completely blocking the opening and the flow.  

Function
